  • 1. Why I don't see the skype for business status of my colleague?
     

    You have to open application with internet explore browser and trust the domain, then you can able to see your colleague lync presence.

    Note: SharePoint online lync presence will work only in IE browser.

  • 2. How to exclude employee based on domain like domaina.com, domainb.com?
     

    1) Go to System Settings

    2) You can remove/hide employees based on domains in Exclude Users as well as through Exclude Domains column.

    Note: Only site administrator has the right to access.

  • 3. Why I don't see the setting buttons?
     

    Only site collection administrator has the right access to settings part, so it wont be visible to all users.

  • 4. How to exclude employee with certain domain?
     

    1) Go to System Settings

    2) You can hide employees with certain domains in  Exclude Domains column.

    Note: Only site administrator has the right to access.

  • 5. How to restrict listing view for the employee?
     

    1) Go to System Settings

    2) You can restrict listing view of a particular employee from Exclude Users or even from Exclude Domains column.

    Note: Only site administrator has the right to access.

  • 6. How to exclude employee from the list?
     

    1) Go to System Settings

    2) You can hide employees from list using employee name or employee email id in Exclude Users column or Exclude Domains column.

    Note: Only site administrator has the right to access.

  • 7. Why I don't see upload image link?
     

    Only site collection administrator or current logged user having account with that site collection has the right to upload the image.

  • 8. Can I again include excluded employee to view?
     

    Yes. You can include hided employee with the following instructions below:

    1) Go to Settings
    2) Click on the Excluded Users List.
    3) Select the employee to again include hided employee to view and click on Enable button.

    Note: Only site collection administrator has the right access to settings page.

  • 9. Can i forcefully sync data from tenant?
     

    Yes. You can forcefully sync data from tenant with the following instructions below:

    1) After logging into application, please click on gear icon on the top right corner of the screen.

    2) Click on the Sync Now button.

    3) Once data synchronization is done it will open screen with updated data.

    Note: Only site collection administrator has the right access to settings page.

  • 10. Can admin upload image of any employee?
     

    Yes. Admin has to follow this instructions below:

    1) Click on the Employee icon. An employee details pop-up will appear.

    2) Click on Upload image option to upload an image of the employee.

  • 11. How to grant permission to the users as admin ?
     

    1) After installing the application, click on Setting's gear icon top right corner of the home page.

    2) Scroll down to settings popup, last option you can find dropdown list for all users called "Update User Roles & Permissions". Just search the name of user, and "Update Role" for them.

    3) In the dropdown menu you can select either Admin or User.

     

  • 12. What changes employee can do in their profile details?
     

    An employee can update their profile details with following instructions

    1) Click on the Employee icon. An employee details pop-up will appear.

    2) Click on Update Profile option to update their profile details of an employee.

    They can update their profile details like LocationAbout meSkills, Projects & Hobbies.

  • 13. How to change theme color in Employee Directory Plus application?
     

    1) After logging into application, please click on gear " icon on the top right corner of the screen.

    2) In settings, choose the Pre-defined Themes or you can define your Custom Themes.

  • 14. Can I apply one or more filter i.e all employees from location i.e Europe and further department 'Sales and Marketing' to narrow down the search?
     

    Yes. You can apply more than one filters to narrow down the search.

  • 15. Where to update mobile phone, work phone and office location in AD ?
     
    • -> Work phone is mapped with telephone no.
    • -> Mobile phone is mapped with mobile
    • -> Office is mapped with office field in AD
  • 16. How to update users images in AD ?
     

    Below PS script we can update image in AD
    $photo = [byte[]](Get–Content C:\pictures\oddvar.jpg –Encoding byte) Set–ADUser oddvar -Replace @{thumbnailPhoto=$photo}

  • 17. How / where to update user information in Office365, i.e; mobile phone, work phone & office ?
     

    Follow below steps:
    1) Goto Office 365 Admin panel, click on Active Users

    2) Edit contact information for selected User

     

  • 18. Where can the user update employee images in Office365 ?
     

    Follow below steps:
    1) Goto Office 365 Admin panel, click on Active Users

    2) Click on Upload for selected User and can update the employee's image.

  • 19. How to sync mobile phone in employee directory application ?
     

    After updating mobile phone in AD or office 365, please run below Power-Shell script to sync mobile phone in Employee Directory Application.
